Furry & Feathered Friends

Our family raises meat rabbits, chickens, geese, ducks, guinea fowl, and barn cats.
Champion Satin Buck. 2013.

Rabbits: We have Satin, Californian, New Zealand, and mixed meat breeds. The rabbits are the kids 4-H project. We have 5 kids in 4-H in 2015! Hopefully each child will be able to show 6 rabbits (2 meat pens). We are waiting to see how many healthy babies our momma rabbits produce.

Plymouth Rock Hen
Chickens: We raise hens for the many farm fresh eggs they give us! Our chickens free range during the day and sleep in the chicken house at night. Some hens will eat from our hands. If the kids are patient and calm they are able to pet and hold the hens.

Geese: We adopted two geese. They used to live with the other birds but they were not being nice to the hens so they are separate now.

Ducks: We are raising a family of Rouen Ducks! We have two boys and three girls. We get a few eggs everyday. Our incubator is full and hopefully we get some baby ducks!

Guinea Fowl: One pearl guinea hen keeps watch over our farm. She is nicknamed the grandma of the flock because the young chickens follow her around and she is patient with them! We also have 4 guinea keets!

Barn Cats: The cats have a job - keep mice and critters away! Our cats are friendly and well loved by the kids. We enjoy watching momma cats raising babies.

"Miss Ole". Christmas 2013
The most loved animals on our farm are treated more like people - our two dogs "Ole" and "Toby". Ole is affectionately named after Taco John's Potato Ole's because we have a "6 pack and pound". 6 kids and a pound of dog!
